The beginnings of the new 'KZN Butterfly Sanctuary'

Through the experience of developing the old Ramsgate Butterfly Sanctuary with its breeding facilities, it was determined that improvements are necessary for the development of the new KZN Butterfly Sanctuary. The new design of the Sanctuary is practical and offers much more to the general public. It is planned to have one Butterfly Sanctuary per province in South Africa which will also provide the local communities access to developing new breeding centers. Each of these new sanctuaries will house their own provincial butterfly species and will provide the general public with new experiences found at each of the sanctuaries planned per province.
